Preece Headlines All-Star Outlaw Open Line-Up for Wednesday Opener at Thompson

Waterbury, VT and Naples, ME The Outlaw Open Modified Series returns at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park this Wednesday, June 16 for the Nutmeg State 75 presented by Twisted Tea. An all-star line-up is expected to hit the high banks with Berlin, CT’s Ryan Preece one of the biggest names who’s entered the $5,000-to-win main event.

Preece, a multi-time Sunoco Modified champion at Thompson Speedway, is in his third year of full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition. However, he still regularly hops in his Tour-type Modified owned by Ed and Connie Partridge for events all over the country. Earlier this season, he won the SMART Modified Tour event at Virginia’s South Boston Speedway. This coming weekend, he’ll take advantage of some off-time from the Cup car to run Modified events at Stafford Motor Speedway and Oswego Speedway, respectively.

ACT Season Gets Back Underway with Annual Spring Green This Saturday

Waterbury, VT — The ACT Late Model Tour heads back to New Hampshire this Saturday, June 12 for Caron Fabrication Spring Green at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The final ACT event of the spring is shaping up as a big showdown featuring the Tour regulars, several weekly White Mountain standouts, and a few of the region’s top Super Late Model stars.

After four weeks off, the ACT field is anxious to get back on track. They’ll do so at the only track hosting three Tour events in 2021. The Caron Fabrication Spring Green has long been one of ACT’s most prestigious events. This Saturday is the 46th edition of the Spring Green and the 33rd ACT Late Model Tour event overall at White Mountain.

Oxford Replaces Monadnock on ACT-PASS Schedule with July 11 Showdown

Waterbury, VT — The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today that the doubleheader originally planned for Monadnock Speedway on July 4 has been moved to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday, July 11. Qualifying begins at 4:00pm with features to follow.

The program will remain the same, with twin 150-lap features for the ACT Late Model Tour and PASS Super Late Models plus a 50-lap PASS Modified shootout. The post time was chosen in part because of the potential for extremely hot midday temperatures in mid-July. It also allows weekly Late Model and Super Late Model racers around the region more time to get their cars ready so they can compete at Oxford if they choose.

The Outlaw Open Modified Series headlines the program with the Nutmeg State 75 presented by Twisted Tea worth $5,000 to the winner. All five of Thompson’s local divisions are also in action with their second event of the 2021 season.

The SK Light Modifieds return to the track for their second race of the season. If the finish to the first one was any indication, this will be one fans don’t want to miss. Young rising stars Anthony Bello and George Bessette Jr. battled to the wire with Bello edging out for the win by a mere 0.023 seconds in a classic Thompson finish.
