New $10,000-to-Win Open Modified Sunoco 100 on Saturday, October 8th

Barre, VT & Naples, ME ­— Pro All Stars Series and American-Canadian Tour officials are excited to announce a change in the 60th annual Sunoco World Series presented by Budweiser at Thompson Speedway. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will now headline Sunday of World Series weekend with their Sunoco World Series 150 presented by Phoenix Communications Inc. and the Thompson Outlaw Open Modifieds will now compete in the new $10,000-to-Win Open Modified Sunoco 100 joining the Saturday, October 8th program alongside the PASS Super Late Models and American-Canadian Tour.

THOMPSON, Conn. – In what was a wild 150 laps sponsored by Phoenix Communications, Craig Lutz returned to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park Victory Lane on Thursday night, August 18. As the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour hit the high-banks for the first time since 2020, Lutz drove the No. 82 for Danny Watts to the front of the field early, and bested his challengers on multiple late restarts to score his fourth series win and first of the season.

The victory was also the first Whelen Modified Tour win for Lutz driving for car owner Danny Watts.

Thompson, CT ­— The sights and sounds of Thompson Speedway reopened on Twisted Tea Tuesday last night in the heart of Northeast Connecticut. Four divisions made up the extra money, extra distance program with a spectacular fireworks presentation rounding out the show. In the end, four ultra-fast and competitive individuals stood victorious in O’Reilly Auto Parts Victory Lane, all of whom went home with a little extra change in their pockets.

Thompson, CT ­— With doom and gloom forecasted for Wednesday, August 17th in Northeast Connecticut, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Officials have postponed the return of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour to Thursday, August 18th. The schedule in its entirety will remain the same simply pushed back from Wednesday to Thursday.

Barre, VT and Naples, ME ­— Officials from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) have announced the full schedule of events for the epic Thompson Speedway mid-week Doubleheader on Tuesday, August 16th and Wednesday August 17th. Twisted Tea Tuesday will feature twin-50 lap special events for the Sunoco Modifieds and a Street Stock/Limited Sportsman Open along with Night #1 of the new SK Lite Modified Double Down Showdown, Mini Stocks and Fireworks to cap the night! Wednesday brings the return of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour for the Phoenix Communications 150 along with Night #2 of the SK Lite Double Down Showdown with ACT-type Late Models and Limited Sportsman.
