Vermont’s Nick Mumley Joins Growing ACT Media Team
/Barre, VT — After talks at the end of 2023, American-Canadian Tour officials announced today that longtime operator of the Inside Groove, Nick Mumley, has joined the sanctioning body in a media contributor capacity to continue a multi-year plan of growing coverage for ACT and its sanctioned tracks, including Thunder Road International Speedbowl, White Mountain Motorsports Park and its co-sanctioned efforts with the Pro All Stars Series at Thompson Speedway.
Mumley has spent nearly the last decade growing from a year at Lyndon College studying broadcasting to covering UVM Basketball and Hockey for 101.3 ESPN, crafting the return of The Inside Groove media outlet in 2018 and calling Thunder Road events live on the air for famed WDEV Radio Vermont since 2021.
“While I’m incredibly thankful to everyone that supported and helped make The Inside Groove a success, I’m looking forward to helping Cris (Michaud) and the team push ACT to new heights,” said Mumley. “We have a great team assembled and I’m very glad to be a part of it.”
Mumley’s addition has already proved exciting, debuting the first of several video projects on the new ACT YouTube channel he built for the sanctioning body this past Wednesday. Alongside an already bustling media team that includes the video production team headed by Connor Sullivan and Ian Pettigrew and the race-day operations of ACT announcer Aaron Maynard and Thunder Road pit reporter Michael Stridesburg, Mumley has stepped in seamlessly.
“We’ve continued to grow the organization with the times and adding Nick was a welcome necessity,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “We now operate our own production team for FloRacing at Thunder Road, we’re excited to use this same production team for ACT-sanctioned events, including White Mountain and Thompson Speedway, for Racing America this year as well. As we’ve grown, we’ve been able to find great folks to add to the team and we’re very excited for 2024.”
ACT Media Director Cale King has also been added as a full-time addition to the ACT offices in Barre, Vermont. With continued media duties, King has also added several new duties, including managing the busy office space. “Cris made the decision to join up full-time an easy one and it’s been a great few months,” said King. “We all certainly have some big goals with ACT and our tracks, and I look forward to my continued role in pursuing them.”
