Looking Ahead: Five ACT Events to Look Forward to in 2024!
/Barre, VT — Looking ahead to the 2024 season, the American-Canadian Tour will be jam-packed with some of the most spectacular, iconic and historic racing events in the Northeast. 2023 sends along some powerful momentum for the upcoming season and all of us at ACT are looking forward to what’s to come!
Here are just a few we’re most looking forward to this season! (Note: Events Listed in Chronological Order)
Saturday, April 13, 2024 – 4th annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
The American-Canadian Tour will start the 2024 season on New England’s biggest stage with a return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the 4th annual Northeast Classic! The collaborative effort between ACT and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS), the Northeast Classic is once again headlined by the pair of preeminent full-fendered divisions and the first of at least seven doubleheader weekends for the two series in 2024.
The Northeast Classic will also be headlined by the return of the Open Tour-type Modifieds, a fan-favorite division on the Magic Mile, along with the debut of the 604 Modifieds and the return of the R&R Race Parts NH Open Street Stock Series!
Saturday, June 22, 2024 – The Coastal 150 at Star Speedway
After four long seasons away, the American-Canadian Tour returns to Star Speedway on Saturday, June 22 for the Coastal 150! Star has been building up a strong ACT Late Model program as part of their weekly track championship line-up and the ACT Tour stars are ready to take on the local heroes who know the tricky oval like the backs of their hands!
Another doubleheader combination with the PASS Super Late Models, the Saturday during NASCAR Cup Weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will also feature the thunderous New England Supermodified Series (NESS) and PASS Modifieds for a spectacular Saturday night showcase!
Saturday, July 20, 2024 – CAN-AM 200 at Autodrome Montmagny
Since returning to the schedule in 2022, the CAN-AM 200 at Autodrome Montmagny has been a major stop for the American-Canadian Tour with a $10,000 winner’s share drawing large, talent-filled fields to the eastern Quebec speedplant. With the ACT Tour dates at Chaudiere and Montmagny added as point-counting doubleheaders with the Canadian-based Serie ACT Quebec in 2024, the two Northern showdowns are only expected to grow more intense!
Quebec star Raphael Lessard took his first American-Canadian Tour win in the CAN-AM 200 back in 2022, riding that momentum with Larue Motorsports to the 2023 Serie ACT Quebec championship while North Dartmouth, Massachusetts’ Derek Gluchacki took his first Canadian win in similar fashion this past July. 2024 will be the tie-breaker; Who will take over the crown - the Americans or the Canadians?
Saturday, August 3, 2024 – 7th annual Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 at White Mountain
The Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 headlines the midsummer stretch for the American-Canadian Tour as the Tour returns to its New Hampshire home at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The Milton CAT Midsummer 250 has only grown since its inception in 2018, becoming an international who’s-who, all chasing the $10,000 top prize and a chance to take down the Northeast’s newest and biggest marquee event! One can classify the Milton CAT 250 as the American-based CAN-AM event, annually drawing one of the largest international crowds with fans and drivers alike making the pilgrimage out of Quebec for the American-Canadian Tour’s longest event of the season.
Jesse Switser shocked the competition and the fan-base alike with his zero to hero move, qualifying in only through the Last Chance, B-Feature win and utilizing pit strategy and track position to claim his first ACT Tour win after coming home the runner-up at White Mountain’s longest event in 2022. Could 2024 find another rags to riches win, perhaps with a Canadian at the top of the heap for the first time?
Saturday, October 12, 2024 – The Sunoco World Series 75 at Thompson Speedway
The American-Canadian Tour returns to Sunoco World Series weekend at Thompson Speedway on Saturday, October 12 for a 75 lap, $5,000 to win showdown as part of the iconic end-of-season spectacular. Since returning to Thompson Speedway in 2015, and ACT’s subsequent co-promoting partnership with PASS starting in 2020, the Vermont-based series has had much success at the 5/8-mile speedplant.
October’s Sunoco World Series visit for the American-Canadian Tour will feature the largest purse offered for the international series at ‘The Big-T’ with a $5,000 payday available to the winner. Part of the Brookside Equipment Sales Southern New England Triple Crown, the Sunoco World Series 75 will once again double down, counting for ACT Tour championship and Triple Crown championship points as the season comes closer to its close!
