International ACT Stars Square Off in CAN-AM 200 Heavyweight Prize Fight at Montmagny

Barre, VT — After several weeks of rest, recuperation and maintenance on their loyal mounts, the haulers of the American-Canadian Tour faithful point northward for their second journey of the year to La Belle Province of Quebec! Returning to Autodrome Montmagny this Saturday night, the stars and cars of the international American-Canadian Tour will battle for the $10,000 winner’s share of a $55,000 purse in the CAN-AM 200!

Center Conway, New Hampshire’s Gabe Brown has claimed the top spot on the American-Canadian Tour point standings after a strong run at Star Speedway in June. This is not the first time the young hot-shoe has been in this position, Brown led the Tour through the second half of last year’s title chase before coming up short in an uncharacteristic day at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl last October. Brown has been one of the most consistent drivers on the circuit this summer with five top-5 finishes, all but one of those on the podium.

The one all eyes will be on Saturday is Dartmouth, Massachusetts driver Derek Gluchacki. A career season on the American-Canadian Tour turned sour at Star Speedway with a missed set-up and poor draw making a difficult day for the Superior Rail & Iron Works crew. Gluchacki will be looking to bounce back in a big way this Saturday in the defense of his CAN-AM 200 victory on his first journey to Autodrome Montmagny last July.

Another driver looking to capitalize is Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif. The Quebecer has already taken his first American-Canadian Tour victory this season at Autodrome Chaudiere and would love nothing more than to sweep the two Quebec races on the international Tour schedule. Tardif has had success at Montmagny before, taking both the Donald Theetge Twin 80s and the Duroking 150 last summer with Serie ACT Quebec.

While D.J. Shaw, Erick Sands, Jesse Switser, Cam Huntress, Bryan Wall Jr. and rookies Kasey Beattie, Kaiden Fisher, Jeremy Sorel all look to bring the $10,000 win back to the United States, they’ll have plenty of homegrown competition to fight. Joining Tardif will be fellow ACT Tour title chasers Jonathan Bouvrette, Remi Perreault and Claude Leclerc as the Quebec contingent continues to play a strong role in the 2024 points battle for the 13-event international Tour.

The American-Canadian Tour returns to action on Saturday, July 20 for the $10,000 to win CAN-AM 200 at Quebec’s Autodrome Montmagny for an international showdown in conjunction with the Canadian-based Serie ACT Quebec! Pit Gates open at 10:00am with heat racing set to begin at 3:15pm. If you can’t make the trip, catch all the action at Autodrome Montmagny live and around the world on Racing America.
