Prelude to the Midsummer Classic 250 at White Mountain Offers Provisional, $2,000 Winner’s Share in Non-Point Qualifier
/Barre, VT — American-Canadian Tour officials, in conjunction with White Mountain Motorsports Park, have added a special non-point event to the 2024 schedule with the Prelude to the Midsummer Classic 250 on Sunday, July 14 as part of a doubleheader midseason championships weekend at White Mountain. The 75-lap sprint on the North Woodstock highbanks offers a $2,000 winner’s share and all ACT Late Model drivers who take the green will be provisional eligible for a starting spot in the 7th annual Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 on Saturday, August 3.
With the Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 quickly becoming one of the Northeast’s most sought-after events for ACT Late Models, officials established the first ever qualifier event for the popular extra-distance showdown. With the number of cars in the pit area continuing to grow year after year, officials wanted to open the playing field to those who may be intimidated by the qualifying system.
“This will be pretty fun,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “We rarely do qualifier events but with more and more teams becoming interested in coming to the 250 here at White Mountain, we wanted to add a little incentive to join in. This is really for the little guy or the outsider that feels the ACT Tour competition is a little too much, he can have something to fall back on, if need be, by joining the Prelude.”
